2013 FALKLAND ISLANDS SOVEREIGNTY REFERENDUM

A two person Delian election observation team was invited to observe the 10-11 March 2013 Falkland Islands Sovereignty Referendum. The two-day election took place at multiple locations across the Islands, with final results tabulated in Port Stanley.
DELIAN JOINS THE UNITED NATIONS GLOBAL COMPACT

As a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the democratic process through the application of technology, Delian was proud to become an inaugural Canadian signatory to the United Nations Global Compact on 8 April 2013. By adhering to and espousing the UNGC’s code of conduct, Delian will strive to foster best practices that improve the democratic voting process, particularly in emerging and post-conflict countries.

Hosted by the International Centre for Parliamentary Studies, the three-day event ran from 27-29 May 2013, and reviewed electoral reform and recent lessons learned regarding the use of elections’ technology. Delian again participated at the 6th International Electoral Affairs Symposium in Mauritius.

The Annual Association of Central and Eastern European Election Officials (ACEEEO) AGM took place from 12-14 September 2013 in Warsaw, Poland. As an honorary lifetime ACEEEO member, Delian’s Advisory Board Chair, Jean-Pierre Kingsley, delivered the keynote address.
REPUBLICAN PARTY OF GEORGIA, LEADERSHIP ELECTIONS

At the request of the Republican Party for the country of Georgia, Delian deployed a three-person election support team to Tbilisi in early December 2013. Their function was to oversee the use of Canadian donated paper ballot tabulators in support of the Republican Party’s 6 December 2013 AGM and elections.

Overseen by the Electoral Office of Jamaica, the University of West Indies Guild of Student Elections took place 19 March 2014. Delian supported both the UWI Mona and Montego Bay campuses with donated election technology and expertise.

Hosted by the National Election Commission of Romania, the Annual Association of Central and Eastern European Election Officials (ACEEEO) AGM took place from 3-6 September 2014, in Bucharest. As an honorary lifetime member, Delian’s Advisory Board Chair, Jean-Pierre Kingsley, was again invited to deliver a keynote address.
SCOTTISH INDEPENDENCE REFERENDUM

At the invitation of the UK Elections Commission, Delian deployed a two-person election observation team to observe the historic 18 September 2014 Referendum on Scottish Independence. Delian’s area of observation centered on Perth and Kinloss, with the majority of Scottish voters electing to stay within the United Kingdom.

The 9th International Electoral Affairs Symposium took place in Cape Town, 3-4 December 2014, in partnership with the Independent Election Commission of South Africa. Delian was represented by its Managing Director, who also participated in the inaugural International Election Awards.
